Ismaila Sarr: Club plot new move for Crystal Palace star in January
Galatasaray are plotting a fresh move to sign Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr in the Januarty transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 28-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, after the Turkish giants joined Liverpool in having offers rejected during the summer window.
Since then, it has been a slow start to the season for the Senegal international, who has only recently returned to the first-team squad under Pierre Sage.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Galatasaray could revisit their move for Sarr amid a feeling he could be lured away from Palace.
The winger's future remains up in the air amid reports he had refused to train and was disappointed to miss out on a big-money move to Liverpool before the window closed.
While a move to Anfield is now believed to be unlikely, Galatasaray's interest has lingered, and they could make a fresh move to lure him away from Crystal Palace.
Could Galatasaray return with a move for Ismaila Sarr?
Former Man United scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in August that Crystal Palace had not ruled out selling Sarr for the right offer, after they turned down Galatasaray's offer.
Liverpool later came in with an offer believed to be around £50million, which again fell short of the Eagles' demands, and they opted to keep him at the club instead.
Should he continue to struggle for minutes under Sage, though, there have been suggestions that a new offer from Galatasaray could be enough to lure him away.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Sarr, obviously his future at Crystal Palace was the subject plenty of speculation during the summer transfer window.
"Liverpool were interested, Galatasaray were interested as well, and I'm sure Galatasaray would still be interested in the chance to bring him to the Turkish Super League.
"They did make a move for him during the summer, but obviously he ended up staying at Crystal Palace after the window closed.
"There'll be interest from the Saudi Pro League in Ismaila Sarr as well because of everything that happened during the summer, so that interest is not dying down."
What is Crystal Palace's stance on losing Sarr?
Despite ongoing speculation about his long-term future at the club, Crystal Palace ultimately opted against selling Sarr in the summer window in favour of keeping him around.
The Senegal international still has a key part to play under Sage, despite his slow start to the season, while he remains a fans' favourite after his displays last season.
As a result, Brown told Football Insider on 5 October that Crystal Palace are working on agreeing a new contract with Sarr and have made positive progress in talks.
Sage's side have always been keen to keep the winger around after an outstanding season which saw him win the Golden Boot as part of Palace's Conference League success.
Despite inevitably feeling disappointed at not getting his big move to Liverpool, Sarr may now be ready to get his head down and continue to play at the top level for Crystal Palace.
