Crystal Palace make Odsonne Edouard transfer decision – Insider
Crystal Palace are not interested in seeing Odsonne Edouard return from his loan spell at Leicester City after his poor start to the season.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who exclusively told Football Insider that the striker’s lack of impact while away on loan has been a concern given Leicester’s struggles.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 2 December that the Foxes are considering terminating the Frenchman’s loan deal mid-way through the season.
Edouard, 26, has made just four league appearances since his move to the King Power Stadium in August and has failed to find the net in that time.
This is despite Leicester’s ongoing issues in the centre-forward position which has pushed them to consider their options in the transfer market.
Football Insider revealed that Ruud van Nistelrooy is keen to reinforce his attacking options by signing a new forward in the mid-season window.
Now, Brown has insisted that a decision will have to be made about Edouard’s future “soon”, but it will depend on whether Leicester or Palace have the final say.
Crystal Palace make decision on Odsonne Edouard return
When asked about Edouard’s potential return to Selhurst Park, Oliver Glasner told the media: “From our side, it makes no sense to bring him back because if he’s not playing at Leicester, then why should he play for Crystal Palace?”
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, echoed the manager’s sentiment and insisted a return is unlikely.
“If he’s not good enough for Leicester, he won’t be good enough for Palace,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s gone on loan because there’s no place for him in their squad. They’ve got Mateta and Nketiah.
“As far as I’m aware, they’re not interested in him coming back, and the manager made that clear.
“It depends on whether Leicester can make the decision or whether it has to be an agreement between both clubs, because it appears they don’t want him either.
“If he can’t get in their team when they’re struggling for strikers, that’s a concern.

“Whether his performances in training haven’t been good enough or they just don’t think he’s of the required level, they’ll have to make a decision one way or another soon.”
