Crystal Palace making Christantus Uche transfer decision, Sky reveal ‘break clause’ news
Crystal Palace are set to face a huge decision regarding the future of Christantus Uche in the January transfer window.
The Eagles secured the services of the Nigeria international on transfer deadline day in the summer, with the Getafe star joining on a season-long loan, with the chance to buy him next summer for £17million.
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Crystal Palace were in talks with Manor Solomon over a potential loan deal in the latter stages of the summer window, and they quickly turned to Uche after missing out on the Tottenham star.
However, the winger has hardly featured for Oliver Glasner’s side so far this term, and they are continuing to assess his situation ahead of the January transfer window.

Crystal Palace do not have a break clause in Uche deal
Uche’s permanent move to Crystal Palace will be triggered if he makes 10 starts throughout the campaign, but his only start so far has come for the U21 side in the Vertu Trophy.
Glasner has limited the 22-year-old to just a handful of substitute minutes during his stint in South London so far, and that looks set to prompt a key decision from Palace in January in regard to his future.
The attacker has struggled to adapt to life in the UK since his summer move, and there is no break clause as part of the agreement between Palace and Getafe, according to Sky Sports.
Uche has managed just seven minutes of Premier League football so far, and as a result, Palace will “continue to assess” his situation in the build-up to the January window.
The 2024-25 FA Cup winners are understood to have paid Getafe a £3m loan fee as part of the deal, and they are also believed to be shelling out around £45,000 per week on the player’s wages.
However, the lack of a break clause in the agreement for Uche means that they will have to negotiate with his parent club if they want to cut his stay short in January.
Crystal Palace situation will have Wolves on red alert for Uche
Wolves are keen to hand Rob Edwards the resources to drastically strengthen their squad in January after his appointment was confirmed recently.
With a winter spending spree potentially on the cards at Molineux, the situation unfolding at Selhurst Park will surely have the Black Country outfit on red alert in the coming weeks.
Football Insider revealed at the end of August that Wolves were in talks over a move for Uche prior to his switch to Palace coming to fruition, and they would surely be keen to reignite their interest if the Eagles were to cut his stay short.
Palace have a limited number of options if they do decide that they want to try and back out of their Uche agreement, and that could play directly into Wolves’ hands this winter.
