Crystal Palace plan to accept Odsonne Edouard bid after Celtic update
Crystal Palace are planning to accept offers for Odsonne Edouard this summer as he is no longer a part of Oliver Glasner’s long-term plans.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the 27-year-old’s future at Selhurst Park amid plenty of speculation.
The Frenchman has returned to pre-season training following an unsuccessful loan spell at Leicester City, but he is unlikely to play himself into the manager’s thinking.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in May that Crystal Palace plan to sell Edouard permanently amid interest from the MLS and Saudi Pro League.
With just one year remaining on his current contract, there is a belief that this is Palace’s last chance to raise funds from his sale as they attempt to drum up interest.
However, Football Insider revealed on 20 July that Celtic are unlikely to re-sign Edouard despite being linked with the move after Brendan Rodgers cooled the speculation.

Odsonne Edouard to leave Crystal Palace after Leicester failure
Edouard spent last season on loan at the King Power Stadium, where he made just eight appearances which led to speculation that Leicester wanted to cancel his loan in January.
Having now returned to South London, efforts are being made to find him a permanent destination away from Crystal Palace.
O’Rourke explained that the writing is on the wall for Edouard at Palace, with a permanent exit the best situation for both parties as things stand.
“The writing is on the wall for his future at Crystal Palace,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s got one year left on his contract, he was loaned out to Leicester City last season and that move didn’t really work out for him.
“It seems the best thing for both Odsonne Edouard and Crystal Palace will be a parting of the ways this summer.
“It doesn’t look likely that Edouard will return to Celtic, though, because Brendan Rodgers is looking at other targets.”

Jean-Philippe Mateta update emerges at Liverpool
Amid speculation about Edouard’s future, speculation has also emerged surrounding another of Glasner’s attacking options in Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Football Insider revealed on 20 July that Liverpool are now unlikely to sign Mateta as they close in on a mega-money deal to sign Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike.
Liverpool held talks with Mateta’s representatives in Paris in the last week as they planned to explore a number of options up front, but their interest has gone no further.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider last month that Palace are confident of keeping Mateta alongside a number of his teammates who have also been linked with moves.
