Crystal Palace stance on sacking Oliver Glasner revealed after Thomas Frank twist
Crystal Palace are unlikely to sack Oliver Glasner immediately despite a dismal run of form which has seen them dragged into a relegation battle.
The Eagles threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Burnley at Selhurst Park last time out, putting a dent in their optimism after the 1-0 win away against rivals Brighton.
Palace‘s run has now extended to just one win in their last 14 games in all competitions, leading to questions about Glasner‘s position in the dugout.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Thomas Frank‘s availability after being sacked by Spurs will not change their position.
Crystal Palace plan to stick with Glasner until he departs at the end of the season as previously confirmed, before making a move to appoint his successor.

Crystal Palace make Oliver Glasner decision after Thomas Frank sacked
Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Crystal Palace want Frank to replace Glasner and he has emerged as one of the leading contenders for the role.
After Spurs suffered a defeat at home against Newcastle, they opted to part ways with Frank amid fears they have been sucked into the relegation battle.
However, his immediate availability is not believed to have changed the situation at Selhurst Park, where they remain confident Glasner can lead them to success this season.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I don’t think it’ll happen now. I think Glasner will get to the end of the season.
“Obviously, Palace have still got that European campaign, where they’re targeting Conference League success as well.
“They feel Glasner is the right man for the job still despite this run of poor form.

“Thomas Frank is now out of work and I’m sure he’ll be linked with a number of jobs, whether that’s in England or even abroad as well.
“If Palace are looking at replacements for Oliver Glasner, who is obviously leaving coming the end of the season, I’m sure Thomas Frank will be right up there.”
Who else is in the running for the Crystal Palace job?
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in December that Crystal Palace are preparing for the worst with regard to Glasner’s future.
Shortly after that, the Austrian confirmed he would be leaving Selhurst Park come the end of the season, and the Eagles’ efforts to land a replacement have ramped up.
Getafe manager Jose Bordalas is on Palace’s radar, while they have also considered Raya Vallecano’s Inigo Perez among a number of potential targets.

Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate has been tipped for the Palace job thanks to his connections with the club where he came through as an academy product.
Work towards identifying their next permanent boss is well underway, but they are also keen to capitalise on situations including Frank’s departure.
