Dani Olmo to Man City: ‘Deal will get done’ after astonishing Barcelona twist
Man City will look to try and sign Dani Olmo on a free transfer in January but Barcelona are expected to eventually “get a deal done” for him to stay, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the defending Premier League champions are monitoring his situation “very closely.”
Barcelona failed to register the 26-year-old before the deadline which means he is now unavailable to play for the Spanish giants at the moment.
Well-placed sources revealed to Football Insider that a number of clubs are looking at Olmo as a potential signing due to the ongoing situation.
However, the player himself has indicated that he wants to stay at Barcelona regardless of the circumstances.
Olmo has made 15 appearances this season for Barcelona, scoring six goals and providing one assist.
Man City could struggle to sign Dani Olmo in January
Olmo is available on a free transfer right now, but it is believed that Barcelona will get the situation resolved for him to remain at the club.
Missing out on the attacking midfielder would be seen as a disappointment for Pep Guardiola’s side and any club that is currently interested in him.
Olmo is seen as someone who would have improved City’s squad, which the club are actively looking to do given their difficult first half of the season.

City are looking for an attacking midfielder as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin de Bruyne.
The Belgium international is out of contract at the end of the season and could depart the Etihad Stadium in the summer.
