Daniel Farke claims there is ‘no chance’ Leeds star starts vs Burnley despite positive fitness update
Daniel Farke is not tempted to put one first team star straight back into the Leeds United starting line-up after injury.
Leeds have won two Premier League games this season against Everton and Wolves, in what has proved a solid if unspectacular start for Farke’s side.
Farke should not be concerned about Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form, with goal scoring one slight issue for the Whites so far.
A trip to fellow promoted club Burnley, who sit in the bottom three, should be a welcome contest for Leeds, with a chance to move further clear from the relegation zone.

Karl Darlow to remain in goal despite Lucas Perri availability
Lucas Perri signed for Leeds in the summer as one of Farke’s most high profile signings, and to solve a problem position amid the form of Illan Meslier last season.
However, Perri has missed the last four fixtures due to injury, with 35-year-old Karl Darlow having to deputise in-between the sticks.
Darlow will remain in goal at Burnley despite Farke’s update on Perri in his pre-match press conference, as per Beren Cross [16 October]: “Lucas has trained the last two weeks with us. Built up his fitness during the break,” before Farke confirmed the Brazilian will not start at Turf Moor.
Daniel Farke could have decision before West Ham clash
Leeds have built their early form on a solid defensive base, and Farke will have a decision to make who start against West Ham, once Perri has had more training time on the pitch with his team mates.
Neither goalkeeper, has made an error leading to a goal, and Perri’s absence doesn’t seem to have affected Leeds that much.
Player/Stat | Minutes Played | Clean Sheets | Goals Conceded per 90 | Errors Leading to Goals |
Lucas Perri | 270 | 2 | 1.67 | 0 |
Karl Darlow | 360 | 0 | 1.50 | 0 |
Burnley looks to be the final time Darlow can audition to oust Perri, who does seem likely to return to the starting XI when fit.
