Daniel Farke sack update: O’Rourke shares Leeds manager news

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is “under pressure” at Elland Road after their underwhelming start to the season, sources have told Football Insider.

The Whites boss was forced to endure a tough summer window with star men like Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray leaving the club.

Farke’s side lost out on promotion in the 2023-24 campaign after defeat against Southampton in the playoff final at Wembley in May.

And now, Leeds have started with eight points from their opening five games in the Championship season.

The Yorkshire giants were beaten 1-0 by promotion rivals Burnley at home on Saturday (14 September) – their first league defeat of the new campaign.

Sources say the pressure is on for Farke to deliver promotion this term after failing in that quest last season.

Leeds chiefs expect to return to the Premier League for the 2025-26 campaign after their relegation last year (2023).

They are also wary that Farke’s side had a slow start last season but recovered to launch themselves into contention for automatic promotion – before dropping into a playoff place.

The Yorkshire giants sit eighth in the table at this early stage of the season and were eliminated from the League Cup against Middlesbrough last month.

Leeds are next in action against Cardiff City on Saturday (21 September).
