Daniel Farke simply cannot keep his job at Leeds United as embarrassing Premier League stat emerges
Daniel Farke’s position at Leeds United simply must be untenable after their latest Premier League defeat this weekend.
The Whites turned in a promising display against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, but ultimately couldn’t capitalise on a strong first half as they were beaten 2-1 on home turf.
There were boos from Leeds fans at Elland Road when Rob Jones blew the full-time whistle, and it was yet another familiar story of missed chances for the top-flight strugglers.
Premier League icon Matt Le Tissier recently revealed to Football Insider that he feels Farke has done a good job at Leeds so far this season, although that situation is likely to change now that they have dropped into the bottom three.
Sunday’s result was bad enough alone for the German, but it has also created a frankly embarrassing statistic that is damning towards him in every possible way.

Farke is the worst performing Leeds manager in Premier League history
Leeds fans have made their feelings towards Farke known in the aftermath of the defeat, and with the backing of the supporters seemingly all but deserting him, the walls appear to be closing in on the boss.
He led the West Yorkshire outfit to the Championship title in emphatic fashion last season, but there have always been concerns about his ability to take charge at the top level, and those worries have quickly become a reality of late.
- Leeds have created 25 big chances so far this season
- That ranks them as the Premier League’s joint-eighth most creative team
- 19 of those big chances have been missed
- Only Wolves have scored fewer than their 11 goals so far in 2025-26
The Whites are now on a woeful run of five defeats in their six league games, but this weekend’s reverse has carried their manager into uncharted territory.
Aston Villa’s victory at Elland Road has taken Farke’s points per game ratio while in charge of Leeds in the Premier League down to just 0.92 in a startling development, according to LUFC Data via their X account.
The seriousness of his struggles in the top flight are highlighted even further by the fact that he now ranks as the worst-performing Leeds boss to have taken charge of five or more Premier League games.
Farke also ranks as the worst Premier League boss to have managed 50+ games
Pete O’Rourke recently revealed on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast that Leeds are hopeful Farke may be able to turn their fortunes around before Christmas, but the chances of that happening are looking bleaker by the game.
The former Norwich City boss had a major hand in two top-flight relegations during his time at Carrow Road, and his overall record in the Premier League makes for grim reading.
The 49-year-old’s combined points per game ratio of 0.61 is the lowest of any Premier League manager to have overseen 50 or more games in the division, which should serve as yet another sign for Leeds that points towards the decision they must take.
While Farke is undoubtedly a Championship promotion specialist, the alarm bells must surely be ringing for the 49ers as worries grow that they are firmly on their way to suffering the same fate as Norwich under the German’s guidance.
