Daniel Levy exit update as ‘Tottenham not fit for purpose’

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has to leave the club if they are ever to be able to win any trophies, according to Stan Collymore

Spurs travelled to Glasgow and played to a 1-1 draw against Rangers in the Europa League on 12 December.

However, with inconsistent form manager Ange Postecoglou has come under increasing fire, with Levy potentially willing to let him go to relieve pressure on himself.

Former Liverpool player Collymore accepted the Australian has to develop his tactics and accused him of “gross naivety”, but insisted the North London club won’t win anything either way until Levy is gone.

He wrote for Caught Offside: “The other question is whether this is a club that is it fit for purpose to win trophies? The answer is no, and that’s down to Daniel Levy.

I think, until he goes, there won’t be a change of mentality”.

Tottenham back Ange Postecoglou but face inconsistencies

Football Insider opinion

The Lilywhites are in poor form, sitting ninth in the Europa League table and 11th in the Premier League.

Despite this, the club’s hierarchy is backing the former Celtic boss as things stand, with discussions about transfer plans for January already underway.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are looking to sign a defensive midfielder and winger, but they need to address immediate issues first.

Spurs are backing Postecoglou but Daniel Levy still has his eye on a potential sacking.

James Maddison has struggled to find his creative spark this season, while Dominic Solanke has yet to rediscover the form that saw him score 19 league goals last season.

Despite their inconsistencies, the team has shown they can beat rivals like Aston Villa and Man City handsomely. That could be the very reason Postecoglou still holds his job.

But the pressure remains on the 59-year-old to turn the season around. With a quarter-final in the Carabao Cup approaching, it could present a significant opportunity for Spurs to claim their first trophy in 16 years and potentially prove Collymore wrong.
