Daniel Podence told to join new club – ‘I can see him at Man City’, says Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Daniel Podence to quit Wolves for a “better” and “more technical” side this summer.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 27-year-old has “got it all” and is capable of playing for treble winners Man City on his day.
According to the Daily Mail (24 July), Wolves are expected to sell Podence after he was left out of their squad for a pre-season camp in Portugal.
The Portugal international was the Midlands club’s top scorer last season, netting six goals in 37 appearances.
Podence, who joined Wolves for a reported £17million in 2019, is out of contract in less than 12 months’ time.
He has amassed 16 goals and nine assists in 105 total appearances for the Molineux club.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Podence is the type of player who could leave Wolves and fit into another team perfectly.
“I can see him at Man City. He suits a certain type of team and system.
“Wolves, with the way they’re playing, hasn’t suited him at all.
“If I’m him, I want to go and play with a better team. A more technical team.
“He’ll want to be putting his case forward to go to the Euros with Portugal.

“Podence was talked about as the next Diogo Jota, but it hasn’t happened. When you watch him, you think he’s got it all – but he hasn’t got the numbers yet.
“I think he should go and move to a better club this summer.”
