Danilo tipped to quit Rangers instead of Nicolas Raskin amid latest transfer talk
Rangers have suddenly found themselves back in the Scottish Premiership title race, and the January transfer window could prove to be vital.
The Gers are now just three points off Hearts at the summit, as they look to pick up their second league title since their return to the top-flight.
However, while arrivals are expected at Ibrox, so are departures as the Old Firm side look to balance their books.
Nicolas Raskin has been linked away from Rangers consistently this season. However, Derek Ferguson has tipped Danilo to leave Ibrox instead.

Derek Ferguson: Rangers should look to sell Danilo
In recent weeks Danilo’s game time has been limited.
The striker has been more commonly found on the bench, making brief cameos as a substitute.
This will come as little surprise to many Rangers fans, with Danilo putting in some awful performances earlier this season.
With the Brazilian likely on high wages, Ferguson has exclusively told Football Insider that the Gers should look to offload the striker.
He said: “Raskin is a player we cannot afford to let go. But others, like Danilo on the periphery and on big wages, we could look to offload them.
“The problem is Rangers will get injuries between now and the end of the season so we can’t let too many leave.”
How poor has Danilo been for Rangers this season?
According to Fotmob on 9 January, Danilo’s ability on the ball has been poor.
While he is averaging 0.33 goals per game in the Scottish Premiership, this is about his only highlight.
The striker has only completed 75.4 per cent of his passes, and is averaging just 0.98 chances created per game.
| Danilo’s Scottish Premiership stats this season | Per 90 minutes |
| Goals | 0.33 |
| xG | 0.28 |
| Shots | 3.10 |
| Passing completion | 75.4% |
| Chances created | 0.98 |
| Successful dribbles | 0.65 |
Therefore, with players such as Youssef Chermiti now hitting form, it is perhaps wise for Rangers to move on from Danilo.
It is unlikely that the striker will get into the starting XI any time soon. Therefore, a sale in January would suit all parties going into the second half of the 2025-26 campaign.
