Danny Mills Exclusive: £15m-valued West Ham ace may quit & join Midlands club
Danny Mills has claimed that there is “every chance” that West Brom could re-sign West Ham sensation Grady Diangana this summer.
Speaking to Football Insider, the former Leeds United defender suggested that Albion could make a big money move for the winger following his successful loan spell from West Ham this season.
As revealed by Football Insider, the Hammers are understood to have slapped a large price tag of more than £15million on the 22-year-old ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
But Mills still believes that a permanent swoop from the Baggies could be on the cards in the coming weeks.
Speaking to Football Insider, when asked whether West Brom would be priced out of a move for Diangana, he said: “Quite possibly yes, is the answer. Football finances have been turned on their heads by the pandemic.
“Having said that, if West Brom get promoted, the player might think, ‘well actually, I’m happy here’. Does he want to stay and fight and be part of it in a team where he’s one of the main guys. He’s a big fish – does he want to go to West Ham and become a little fish?
“Yes, it’s a lot of money, and it’d be difficult for West Brom, but I don’t think that it’s done and dusted just because of a large fee.
“There’s every chance that if West Brom get promoted, they could hold on to him.”
Diangana has impressed during his time at The Hawthorns this season, scoring five goals and assisting six more over the course of 22 Championship matches.
But his season has been disrupted by hamstring injuries, and the wide man has failed to play more than 40 minutes in a match since mid-December.
