Darwin Nunez expected to leave Liverpool for one of two destinations
Darwin Nunez looks certain to leave Liverpool this summer amid growing interest in his services, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the 25-year-old will choose between a move to La Liga or the Saudi Pro League before leaving Anfield.
Arne Slot’s side are now considering their options in the transfer market as Nunez’s sale is set to boost their ambitions of landing a new centre-forward.
However, Football Insider revealed on 9 May that Liverpool’s efforts to sign Newcastle star Alexander Isak have been dealt a blow as they will not meet his asking price.
Instead, they will consider alternative options in the market as they aim to replace Nunez with an out-and-out striker to provide a consistent source of goals.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 12 April that Liverpool are planning a busy summer window in the wake of Nunez’s departure.

Darwin Nunez wants to leave Liverpool after Al-Hilal offer
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 4 March that Nunez wants to leave Liverpool after being denied the chance to move to the Saudi Pro League in January.
The Reds turned down a big-money offer from Al-Hilal in the mid-season window, leaving the Uruguay international disillusioned and angling for a move.
Meanwhile, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 25 March that Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Nunez this summer.
However, they will have to meet the Reds’ potentially lofty asking price as they are not prepared to let the 25-year-old leave on a cheap deal.
Football Insider revealed in January that Liverpool are open to offers of £50-60million for Nunez amid growing interest.

Ollie Watkins update emerges at Aston Villa
As part of their plans to strengthen their attacking options this summer, the Reds have identified a number of potential replacements for Nunez.
Football Insider revealed on 18 April that Liverpool are closely monitoring Ollie Watkins as a potential alternative to Isak ahead of the transfer window.
The England international could be available this summer amid uncertainty surrounding his future at Aston Villa, placing a number of clubs on high alert.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Watkins could leave Villa as one of a number of first-team players eyeing an exit amid a potential exodus.
