David Moyes future: West Ham ‘main priority’ revealed as new talks planned – Sources
The “main priority” at West Ham is to end the club’s current slump in form before discussing David Moyes’ future, sources have told Football Insider.
Moyes’ side are winless so far in 2024 and sack pressure on the Scot ramped up following their 6-0 home defeat against Arsenal last week.
If the London club can get back to winning ways, it is believed the club’s board will then sit down with the ex-Man United boss to discuss a new deal.
If Moyes, 60, is happy to stay on, the Irons will hand him renewed terms – and a well-placed source has told Football Insider that a renewal is still expected.
Moyes still expected to sign new West Ham contract despite sack pressure
A new two-and-a-half-year deal was “ready to go” in December – but the West Ham boss is yet to give a definitive answer, even with his contract set to expire in June.
That uncertainty has meant Irons chiefs, including chairman David Sullivan, have had to draw up contingency plans.
They are currently exploring alternative options going forward with a shortlist of names being evaluated.

Moyes, who has in his second spell at the London Stadium, has won 17 of a possible 35 games so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
The Irons sit eighth in the Premier League and will play Europa League knockout stage football from next month.
