David Moyes has already raved about Ivan Toney amid Everton transfer latest
David Moyes has previously expressed his high regard for Ivan Toney, with links to Everton mounting after he was spotted on Merseyside.
The striker has enjoyed a staggering season, netting 41 goals in 47 games across all competitions for Al-Ahli.
Toney signed for the Saudi Pro League side in 2024, leaving Brentford in a deal worth around £40million after he had returned from an eight-month betting ban.
But the 30-year-old could now be set to return to the Premier League, as he attempts to make himself an option for England once again.
Everton transfer chiefs may well be due for meetings with the forward, as they attempt to bolster Moyes’ forward line.

Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Everton are interested in Toney, with the striker open to the move.
The former Bee has been on fire in Saudi Arabia, scoring a remarkable 71 goals in just 91 appearances for Al-Ahli since making the switch.

But the move to the Middle East has cost Toney his place in the England squad, with Thomas Tuchel largely choosing to ignore his form.
The German did select the forward for friendlies in June last year, but he would appear for just two minutes against Senegal and has not pulled on an England shirt since.
There had been some clamour for Toney’s return at the World Cup this summer amid the poor form of Ollie Watkins, but Tuchel has made it brutally clear that he will not consider him unless he returns to the Premier League.
The Saudi Pro League top scorer may be targeting that return this summer, and was spotted at Liverpool Lime Street Station on Thursday amid links to Everton.
Speaking in 2024, Moyes was asked about Toney and said: “I think he’s someone who’s always thinking about the football, considering the moments. He’s got an awful lot of good things as a footballer.
“Obviously, there’s a coolness about his finishing and how he plays, and he’s got a physical element to him. But also, importantly, he’s got a really intelligent football brain at times.”
Toney hoping to impress Thomas Tuchel
Toney has retained some hope of a shock place in the World Cup squad, largely due to his ability to take penalties.
Gareth Southgate took the forward to the 2024 European Championship and was rewarded when the forward assisted Harry Kane’s winner against Slovakia, and scored a penalty in the quarter-final shootout against Switzerland.
“I’m sure he’s keeping one eye on me and seeing what I’m doing,” Toney said when asked about Tuchel in February. “I just have to be focused on myself, keep my head down and keep scoring goals.
“I’m sure it will come his way and it will give myself an opportunity. Like I said before, I know what I can bring to a team and goals is part of my game. Hopefully that’s enough.”
