David Moyes has three games to save West Ham job after latest – pundit
West Ham could appoint a new manager during the World Cup if results do not improve in the next three games.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hammers’ start to the season.
West Ham fell to a 1-0 away defeat against Everton in their last Premier League game (18 September), leaving them 18th in the table and two points from safety after seven games.
The Hammers have now registered just two wins from their last 14 Premier League games going back to last season.
Kenny claims Moyes is not safe from the sack despite leading the club to a European semi-final last season.
“I’m sure the manager is coming under a bit of pressure because they have spent a few quid,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“The next two or three games will be big for him because something needs to change. They need to be challenging for Europe every season considering the money they have spent.
“Listen, in another two or three games you are a third of the way through the season. That’s when the pressure starts on managers.
“The World Cup is coming up and that would give West Ham time to get someone in and I think there will be a lot of clubs who do that.
“West Ham are one of them. The break is six weeks so you have plenty of time to come in and set up and get to know the players.
“If, after the next three or four games West Ham are in the same position, only one win, I’m sure the pressure will be cranked up.”

Moyes is currently working through his second spell in charge of the club after initially leading the club from November 2017 and May 2018.
West Ham are next in action against Wolves on 1 October before returning to Europa Conference League action against Anderlecht on 6 October.
