David Moyes sack: West Ham board plan to let manager go – sources

David Moyes is unlikely to be at West Ham United next season, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the club are not set to extend the Scotsman’s contract amid growing pressure on his position.

It is believed that they will allow Moyes, who has brought significant success to Stratford during his second spell, to run down his contract rather than sack him.

As revealed by Football Insider (14 February), the Hammers have had a new two-and-a-half-year deal ready for Moyes since December.

However, in the wake of diminishing results, most notably their 6-0 humiliation against Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday (11 February), the board have changed their view.

West Ham United do not look set to offer David Moyes a new deal

West Ham’s sporting director Tim Steidten is reportedly already seeking potential replacements for Moyes to sure up the club’s long-term plans.

Much of the Hammers fanbase have turned on Moyes and are demanding a change in the dugout.

Speculation has risen regarding the future of many of the club’s star players amid the poor form, with the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen widely linked with moves despite having long-term deals.

However, sources have told Football Insider (15 February) that Kudus is not thinking about a move and remains focused on recapturing his best form following disappointment with Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, sources have told Football Insider (13 February) that senior players at the club are keen to know the managerial situation, with the uncertainty not helping performances or results.
