David Moyes tipped to repeat West Ham transfer trick as Bernard mission reported – pundit
Noel Whelan has backed David Moyes to sign another “young and hungry talent” from the Championship amid West Ham interest in Hull loanee Di’Shon Bernard.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 21-year-old could be the latest in a number of “brilliant” second-tier imports – after the success of Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma.
According to the Mirror (17 April), West Ham are plotting a move for on-loan Man United star Bernard after his impressive performances for Championship strugglers Hull.

The report claims Moyes is a “big admirer” of the centre-back – who has been the subject of regular checks from Irons scouts.
Bernard has made 28 appearances for the Tigers in all competitions this term.
His Old Trafford contract expires in June 2024.
Whelan claimed European semi-finalists West Ham are “reaping the rewards” of trusting Moyes in the transfer market.
“He’s done brilliantly when looking at these Championship players,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“It’s about finding the right player and the right character for him, just look at Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma.
“He’s taken out all the deadwood and created a family environment at the club. They all get on well, and they all want to work hard for one another.
“Sometimes it’s not all about buying a player with great skills, it’s about getting these young, hungry talents who will slot into that hard-working environment you’re trying to create.
“Moyes has been trusted by the board in the transfer market, and they are now reaping the rewards of that.

“He finds these sorts of players and improves them.
“That’s what he’s done with almost everyone who has come into West Ham.”
