Davies tipped to join Euro club from Everton after source reveal - Mills
Danny Mills has suggested Tom Davies should leave Everton and move to a European club on loan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender insisted Davies is a talented player who may need a change of scenery to revive his stalling career.
The Everton academy graduate is yet to start a Premier League game under new manager Rafael Benitez.
A recruitment source told Football Insider (September 27) that Crystal Palace are monitoring his situation at Goodison Park.
The Englishman is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and there has been no progress in negotiations on an extension.
“He’s a player with a lot of potential. He’s never really had a long enough run in the team to prove that over time.

“Obviously, a homegrown player who will be very happy at Everton but sometimes players need a new challenge, a fresh impetus.
“He’s had different coaches in that time but sometimes you need a move away to challenge yourself, take you out of your comfort zone and push you on.
“Maybe he’s got to that stage now. We know he’s a good player but he’s not been able to get himself in the first-team regularly and he’s been in and around it for five years now.
“He needs to find a regular place in a first-team somewhere. If that means dropping down a little bit for six months or a season, so be it. He’s happy where he is, of course, he is.
“Maybe you would look at a loan deal first, maybe abroad, just to see what is out there. He will realise how good he’s got it at Everton and he has to be a little bit better or actually, he can make a big difference elsewhere.
“It’s about him and what he wants. Sometimes it’s too easy to stay where you are because you’re comfortable. People don’t like change.
“I would suggest, back your ability, because he’s a good player, and if the club will allow it, go out on loan somewhere.”
