Dawson wowed by what ‘unbelievable’ Kulusevski did for Tottenham at Man City
Dejan Kulusevski was hailed as “unbelievable” by Michael Dawson for his assist to set-up James Maddison for the Tottenham opener against Man City on Saturday.
After a dominant opening ten minutes from Pep Guardiola’s side in the game at The Etihad (23rd November), it was the visitors who took the lead with 12 minutes on the clock.
With their first attack of the game Kulusevski broke down the right-hand side, before finding space to send in a brilliant cross to the back post where Maddison was on hand to fire home.
Unsurprisingly, Dawson was delighted with the work done by the Sweden international to create that opening goal for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Speaking about the goal on Sky Sports‘ Soccer Saturday (5.44pm), the former Tottenham centre-back said:”Unbelievable Kulusevski, when you see this pass down the right-hand side, unbelievable. Maddison deep run from late, it just goes over [John] Stones, tap in from three years out. But this ball is unbelievable. 1-0 to Spurs.”
Dejan Kulusevski thriving for Tottenham this season
Football Insider Opinion
It is perhaps no surprise that the Sweden international was so heavily involved in this opening goal for Postecoglou’s side agaist Man City.
The 24-year-old has been one of then standout performers for Spurs this season, winning plenty of praise for his performances.
His work to create space for the cross, and to then put in a delivery of that quality, shows just how well he is playing for Tottenham right now.

With Kulusesvki making more of those runs to cause problems for the Man City backline, this has further outlined how big of an asset he is to his side right now.
After a spell out of the starting XI, to start the game in this way will also be a huge relief for Maddison himself.
The question for Tottenham now will be whether or not they can maintain this level of performance, especially in a game as big as this one, and help give Ange Postecoglou a major boost.
