De Ligt and Eriksen react to Bayindir’s message amid Man United keeper uncertainty

Man United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has taken to social media to send a new message, prompting responses from the likes of Matthijs De Ligt and Christian Eriksen.

The 27-year-old has spent the last two seasons at Old Trafford, after moving from Fenerbahce in his native Turkey back in the summer of 2023.

Though Bayindir produced some key performances for Man United such as against Arsenal in the FA Cup, he has mostly been second choice behind Andre Onana under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim.

But with the summer transfer window now open, there are questions over the situation between the posts for the Red Devils.

Altay Bayindir sends new message amid Andre Onana speculation

With Onana making some errors of his own this season, there have been questions about his future at Old Trafford this summer.

It was recently claimed that Man United were in talks to keep Onana and sign a new back-up goalkeeper during the transfer market.

That would of course, have led to further uncertainty for Bayindir around his own future with the Red Devils beyond the current window.

However, it has since been reported that Monaco are lining up a bid for Onana, which may lead to a fresh twist around Bayindir’s own future with the club.

Amid all that, the Turkey international took to his Instagram page to send a philosophical message as he enjoys his summer break, writing: “When we all give the power, we all give the best.”

Eriksen has already left Man United this summer following the expiration of his contract, but still showed his support for the goalkeeper by liking that post.

Meanwhile, Bayindir’s current Red Devils teammates such as De Ligt and Toby Collyer also did the same.

Man United goalkeeper situation remains up in the air

Football Insider Verdict

Like Onana, it is probably fair to say that Bayindir has also had some moments in a Man United shirt he would rather forget.

Even so, Ruben Amorim desperately needs an overhaul of just about his entire squad at Old Trafford ahead of next season.

It is therefore hard to imagine that they can allow the time and money to sanction the exits and replacements of two goalkeepers this summer.

So if it does prove to be the case that Monaco are successful with their bid for Onana, it could help Bayindir to stay at Old Trafford.

But if the Cameroon international does make that move to Ligue 1, questions will continue around what might be to come for Bayindir in the next few months.
