Dean Huijsen responds to message from Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos

Dean Huijsen has responded to a message from Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos ahead of his move from Bournemouth to Los Blancos.

The Spain international was wanted by Liverpool, but Madrid have triggered his release clause and beaten the Merseyside outfit to the defender’s signature.

Since joining Bournemouth from Juventus last summer, Huijsen has taken the Premier League by storm and is now set to test himself in La Liga.

While Madrid have failed to win the Spanish top-flight title, the Champions League and Copa Del Rey this summer, the future looks bright for them after signing Huijsen.

Now that the Bournemouth man has agreed terms with Madrid, he can hope to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Sergio Ramos, who won four Champions League titles during his time in the Spanish capital.

Meanwhile, Ramos reposted Madrid’s announcement that Huijsen was joining Los Blancos on his Instagram story [17 May] and wrote: “All the best my friend”, tagging the Cherries defender.

The 20-year-old responded: “Idolo,” in a clear tribute to his football idol.

Milos Kerkez is set to follow Huijsen out the Bournemouth exit door

The Cherries’ defensive talent has been epitomised by the fact that Huijsen is set to join Madrid just one year on from arriving at the Dorset club from Juventus.

Andoni Iraola’s men are set to land a top-half Premier League finish for the first time since 2017, largely thanks to the efforts of the Spain international.

Meanwhile, fellow Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez has proven his talent in the top-flight, notching two goals and five assists as well as displaying his solidity in the backline.

But like Huijsen, the Hungary international’s future likely lies away from the Vitality Stadium, amid heavy links to freshly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool.

After claiming top-flight glory in his first season in the Anfield dugout, the Dutchman is now keen on bolstering his ranks, and Kerkez’s signature could play a key role in that.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo is being eyed by the likes of Manchester United.
