‘Dean Huijsen’s Bournemouth exit a done deal’ – Major update

Dean Huijsen’s exit from Bournemouth is fully agreed and his new club want him to join as soon as possible.

The young Spanish defender’s future has been a major talking point this season, with the 20-year-old establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s best young defenders.

Liverpool had identified Huijsen as one of their targets this summer, but with Virgil van Dijk having signed a new two-year deal in April, Bournemouth’s young star may have struggled to break into the side.

Chelsea were also interested in signing Huijsen, but have missed out on the Spain international’s signature.

However, Marca have reported that whilst clubs in England have been desperate to secure the signing of the young star, Real Madrid have agreed a deal with Bournemouth for the 20-year-old.

According to the Spanish outlet, both clubs are already exchanging documents, and the only thing left is for the official signing to be finalised.

Madrid will pay the £50million release clause in the Spaniard’s contract.

The signing has been accelerated as the Spanish giants are in desperate need of a new centre-back, following injuries to David Alaba, Eder Militao, and Antonio Rudiger.

If everything is confirmed in time, Madrid hope to take advantage of FIFA’s new transfer window from 1 June to 10 June so they can register Huijsen for the Club World Cup this summer in the USA.

The 20-year-old reportedly had eight “solid concrete offers”, and Chelsea had “him all but sealed”, but Los Blancos came in and “that was it”.

Bournemouth set for difficult summer as European hopes fade

Following a wonderful mid-season climb up the Premier League table, Bournemouth found themselves fifth and dreaming of Champions League football.

Since then, Andoni Iraola’s side have found points harder and harder to come by, and their latest loss at the hands of Aston Villa sees them sat 10th with two games remaining.

Without results going heavily in their favour, whilst also needing to win both their games against Man City and Leicester, it seems increasingly unlikely that the Cherries will be playing in Europe next season.

There is increasing interest in several star players, including Antoine Semenyo and Milos Kerkez, and without the allure of playing in one of UEFA’s tournaments, convincing them to stay will be a tall order.

With several of their best players looking likely to leave, Iraola and the Cherries face a mammoth task rebuilding their squad this summer.
