Declan Rice: West Ham could lose star man for ‘a snip’ after Moyes reveal – pundit

There will be clubs queuing up to offer West Ham £100million-plus to buy Declan Rice, according to Danny Mills.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England defender claimed a mega nine-figure fee would be a “snip” for a club like Chelsea if they were to win the Premier League and Champions League after signing Rice.

As quoted by football.london on Monday (7 February), David Moyes insisted the midfielder is now worth more than £100million.

West Ham

The England star told Gary Neville on his Overlap YouTube channel today (10 February) he “wants to win it all” before the end of his career.

“If somebody wants him, they will pay that,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It is as simple as that. You’ll take Declan Rice on a five or six-year deal. You’re probably going to make that back over the course of the contract.

“You’re thinking of winning Premier Leagues, winning the Champions League and all the riches that come with that.

“It wounds a ridiculous amount of money but you are looking at £20million-a-year if you win the Premier League or Champions League it is job done and it repays that money.

“If he went in to Chelsea and suddenly they win two Premier Leagues and a Champions League that £100million-plus investment is a snip.”

West Ham

Rice is under contract at West Ham until the summer of 2024 but the club have the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

The 23-year-old has played 175 games across all competitions for the Hammers.
