Declan Rice will stay at West Ham this summer after ‘not so subtle’ clue – pundit
Declan Rice is “West Ham through and through” and will stay at the club if they win the Europa League.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s future.
Rice, 23, scored West Ham’s second as his side beat Lyon 3-0 to seal a spot in the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday (14 April).
As he celebrated, he ran toward the Hammers fans while kissing the badge on his shirt.
There has been constant speculation over the midfielder’s future since establishing himself as a key player for the Irons.
When asked if anything could be read into Rice’s celebration, Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild, “Yeah, possibly. Not so subtle, was it?
“He is West Ham through and through and I think it comes down to whether the club wants to let him go.
“There are a lot of factors in a transfer. If West Ham get into the Champions League through winning the Europa League then I can see him staying.
“Why would he want to go somewhere else? He could easily have another year at the club.
“They can then maybe get a few more players in, make themselves stronger and then see what happens.
“He wants to play in the Champions League, there is no reason West Ham can’t be there next season.”

West Ham are next in action against Burnley on Sunday (17 April).
They return to European action against Frankfurt on 28 April.
