The 37-year-old goalkeeper has had an uphill battle to win over the fans, ever since he conceded seven goals to Barcelona on his European debut for the Hoops.
He didn’t have much to do against Zenit, but what he had to do he did well, pulling off a superb save at point-blank range to deny Anton Zabolotny from opening the scoring.
The Dutchman is bound to have more to do in the second leg in Russia so hopefully he takes confidence from his performance in the first leg into that game.
