Dejan Kulusevski: ‘Gutted’ Tottenham expert singles out January signing after ‘bitter pill’
Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Man United is a “bitter pill to swallow” for Tottenham but one shining light was January signing Dejan Kulusevski.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham lost 3-2 to Man United on Saturday in a major blow to their top-four hopes.
The result leaves Spurs eighth in the Premier League table, six points off fourth-placed Arsenal, who have a game in hand.
Ronaldo was the difference-maker on Saturday, scoring a hattrick.
Wenham singled out Kulusevski for praise despite Spurs’ loss.
“It basically came down to Ronaldo deciding he want to be the main man after getting some criticism in recent weeks,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“You are talking about arguably the best player in the world stepping up and taking the headlines.
“Sometimes there is just nothing you can do when a player like that decides to play that well.
“I’m gutted because I actually thought we played well even though we didn’t create much.
“I was really impressed with Kulusevski again and I just think we were unlucky on the day.
“Dier missed a chance as well. I’m not all doom and gloom even though every other result went against us.
“Being objective, we went to Old Trafford and scored twice. Man United were after a response after another hammering.

“They had loads of players coming back so it was a very different Man United side.
“There wasn’t much in it and I actually think we were the better team. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, to be honest.”
