Destiny Udogie to Man City: O’Rourke shares update on ‘surprise’ move

Tottenham star Destiny Udogie could be tempted by a move to Man City if their “surprise” interest materialises, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources say City will be in the market for a left-back “without doubt” in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Udogie has been linked with Pep Guardiola‘s side but is under contract with Spurs until June 2030.

A potential move to the Etihad Stadium is likely to appeal to the Italy international with Tottenham potentially without European football next season.

Man City plot left-back swoop this summer

City have recently lined up with youngster Nico O’Reilly at left-back and they will be in the market for a new option in the off-season.

Udogie has struggled with injury at Tottenham this season and has made 30 appearances across all competitions, notching just one assist.

The Italian signed his last contract extension at Spurs in December 2023 after impressing in his early time at the club.

He has made 60 appearances since joining Tottenham from Udinese two years ago for a reported fee of around £21million including add-ons.

Nottingham Forest respond to Man City’s Gibbs-White swoop

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Sunday (13 April) that Nottingham Forest are keen to open talks with star man Morgan Gibbs-White over a potential new contract.

Forest are set to respond with widespread reports suggesting City are ready to step up their interest in the midfielder.

It is believed the Midlands giants will do everything to keep the 25-year-old, who is currently out of contract in June 2027, at the City Ground.
