Done deal: Midfielder reveals on Twitter he’s agreed terms with Rangers after paperwork sealed
By Richard Parks
Rangers teenager Ciaran Dickson has revealed that he has agreed a professional contract with the club.
The midfielder, 17, took to his personal Twitter account on Sunday evening to share his “delight” at penning terms with his boyhood club.
The Rangers academy product, who has been capped by Scotland at Under-16 level, is regarded as one of the outstanding players in the club’s youth set-up.
Rangers have not reported on their official site that Dickson has penned a deal, although that is not unusual for academy players.
Football Insider verdict:
Dickson is a rising star who is highly thought of within the academy set-up at Rangers, which has flourished under the guidance of Craig Mulholland in recent times. The immense progress of Ross McCrorie this season has demonstrated the value of investing in youthful talent and bringing through top youngsters, particularly those with whom supporters can identify. Dickson has excellent Light Blues credentials and he must now use this professional contract as a stepping stone to making a mark at Ibrox. It is not a time for him to rest on his laurels and reflect on what he has achieved. Instead, he must use it as a springboard to carve out a top-notch career.
