Diego Llorente agrees personal terms after Leeds accept bid – sources
Diego Llorente has agreed personal terms with Real Betis, sources have told Football Insider.
A transfer is expected to be completed this week, with the experienced defender on standby to undergo a medical with Betis.
Sources say only the final touches are needed for this transfer as Llorente prepares to end his four-year spell with the West-Yorkshire-based club.
The Spaniard has been with Leeds since 2020, but he spent last season on loan with Italian giants Roma.
Llorente established himself as a regular for Roma, playing in 30 Serie A games and 11 Europa League fixtures.
Real Betis could bring Llorente back to Spain
Llorente has played 59 times in all competitions throughout his time at Elland Road, but he does brings extensive experience playing in Spain to Real Betis.
Originally starting his career at Real Madrid, Llorente played 138 games in La Liga for various clubs throughout his career.
Even though he has not played in Spain since leaving Real Sociedad in 2020, his experience and knowledge of the league make him less of a risk for Manuel Pellegrini.

Following the signing of Joe Rodon, Llorente is likely surplus to requirements at Elland Road for the forthcoming season.
The former Spurs defender spent last season on loan at Leeds and featured regularly, forming a defensive partnership with Ethan Ampadu that’s expected to continue.
In other news, Leeds United will accept offers for three star men.
