Digne will join Chelsea from Everton after major development – Kenny
Paddy Kenny claims Lucas Digne will move from Everton to Chelsea in January – and walk straight into the starting XI.
The former Leeds stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 28-year-old’s possible move to the Blues makes sense after Ben Chilwell’s season-ending injury.
As reported by the Daily Mail on Tuesday (28 December), Chelsea are considering a move for Digne, with Chilwell set to undergo knee surgery.

The Blues are reportedly considering several options, with Digne thought to be available after falling out of favour with manager Rafael Benitez.
Marcos Alonso played in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Brighton on 29 December but failed to impress.
Kenny claims the move makes too much sense to not happen in January.
“Chelsea need a left-back, Digne looks like he’s leaving,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It makes too much sense not to happen in my opinion. It makes so much sense.
“I’m gutted for Chilwell, he was having a great season and he was really making that position his own at Chelsea and for England. It’s a blow for him.
“Digne, I’m not sure what has happened with him. He’s a quality player and I’m not sure what’s happened at Everton.
“Chelsea should be straight in there, in the team. He’s fit, he’s a brilliant player and he will do a job there.
“It suits both clubs as well. The timing has lined up really well in a weird way.“

Digne has not featured in any of Everton’s last three Premier League games after being dropped.
He has a total of 127 appearances under his belt for the Toffees to date.
