Doherty tipped to star for Tottenham rivals after source’s update tonight – pundit
Kevin Campbell has urged Tottenham to “cut their losses” on right-back Matt Doherty this month.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 29-year-old’s form has “gone off a cliff” after joining in 2020.
A Tottenham source has told Football Insider on Saturday night that Doherty will be allowed to leave in January either permanently or on loan.

As quoted by the Daily Mail (30 December), Spurs boss Antonio Conte has already made an evaluation on who he “can and can’t count on” ahead of the winter transfer window.
Campbell suggested Doherty could “recapture that Wolves form” with a move to a Premier League club.
“Sometimes it just doesn’t work out for players making that jump to a big side,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He did really well at Wolves, but his form has just gone off a cliff since signing for Spurs.
“He still gives his all whenever he’s involved and works really hard for the team.
“But I think it’s time to just cut the losses for Spurs. For Doherty, he needs to go somewhere he can recapture that Wolves form. I can see him staying in the Premier League.”
Doherty signed from Wolves last summer for a fee of around £15million.
He has made 39 appearances for Spurs, while he has 25 caps under his belt for the Republic of Ireland.

The right-back has played just 98 minutes of Premier League football for Tottenham this term.
The former Wolves man was brought on in an unfamiliar left-back role as Tottenham were held 1-1 by 10-man Southampton on Tuesday.
