Dominic Solanke reacts to Justin Kluivert as Bournemouth exit rumours heat up
Justin Kluivert could be leaving Bournemouth this summer, and he has caught the attention of his former Cherries teammate Dominic Solanke with his latest social media post.
Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown has claimed that Kluivert is interested in joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer, amid a mass exodus on the south coast.
Andoni Iraola’s side set a new record Premier League points total of 56 last season, on their way to a ninth-place finish, but they are now paying the price for an impressive campaign.
It has been confirmed that both Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez have already left the club, and there could be yet more departures to come.

Kluivert interested in Bournemouth exit
Kluivert has seen his career burst into life since joining the Cherries, after underwhelming spells at the likes of Roma, Leipzig, and Nice.
The 26-year-old was Bournemouth’s top scorer in the Premier League last season, scoring 12 times as well as picking up six assists.
Appearances (Starts) | Goals | Assists |
34 (29) | 12 | 6 |
However, he has reportedly become concerned at the number of exits this summer, and could be set to move on himself.
Amid the rumours, Kluivert took to Instagram to share some photos of himself enjoying the off-season, with the caption: “forever.”
Former Cherries striker Solanke liked the post to show some support for his old teammate.
Bournemouth must hold firm
Football Insider Verdict
As a result of their superb 2024/25 campaign, Bournemouth were always going to struggle to keep hold of their best players.
Unsurprisingly, their two most talked-about stars have already departed, with Liverpool confirming the signing of Kerkez on Tuesday (6 June), and Huijsen already playing games for Real Madrid in the Club World Cup.
However, with rumours of Kluivert leaving, as well as Illia Zabarnyi and Antoine Semenyo gathering interest, Bournemouth must stay strong and ensure they don’t start next season with a completely changed side.
The recruitment team on the south coast are excellent, and there is no doubt that they will be able to balance out the first two outgoings with extremely competent replacements.
If more players start leaving though, the task becomes harder and harder, and Iraola could be left with a much-weakened squad.
