Dominik Szoboszlai ‘tempted’ to quit Liverpool after Real Madrid confession

Dominik Szoboszlai could be tempted to leave Liverpool and join Real Madrid if they step up their interest in him come the end of the season.

This comes after Marco Rossi, his manager at international level, revealed the 25-year-old has a dream to play for Los Blancos at some stage in the future.

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior has since revealed they share a close friendship and speak regularly, adding more fuel to the fire as speculation grows.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Szoboszlai is happy at Liverpool but could find it difficult to turn down the Spanish giants.

Madrid have previously been known to unsettle players with media speculation, and with increasing talk about the potential move, they hope to do the same with Szoboszlai.

Real Madrid tempting Dominik Szoboszlai to quit Liverpool

Football Insider revealed in November that Real Madrid are looking to sign Szoboszlai and are causing “mischief” despite Liverpool’s reluctance to see him leave.

The Hungary star is believed to be interested in a move to Madrid and would find it hard to turn them down, although a move is not guaranteed.

Any player will be tempted to join Real Madrid, that’s the way things are,” Brown told Football Insider.

“We see it all the time from Real Madrid, they’re linked with a player, and all of a sudden their superstars start speaking about them publicly and speculation ramps up.

“It’s the way they do things, they want to unsettle players and then it makes it easier to buy them.

“I think Szoboszlai is happy at Liverpool and I haven’t been told anything to suggest otherwise, but all the talk about Real Madrid is bound to make an impact.

“If he’s presented with the opportunity to go there, it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

“Liverpool obviously will want to keep hold of him, he’s been excellent so far this season and he’s a big part of their side, but it’s difficult when Madrid come calling, as they know.”

Liverpool’s stance on Szoboszlai exit revealed

Football Insider revealed in November that Liverpool will block any advances for Szoboszlai and have no intentions of losing their star man any time soon.

The Hungary international has enjoyed a stunning season despite his side’s stuttering form, establishing himself as a key part of Arne Slot’s starting XI.

This has led to suggestions of a price tag worth in excess of £100million as they aim to deter interest from one of the biggest clubs in the world.

As the Reds experienced with Trent Alexander-Arnold, it can be difficult to convince a player to stay when Madrid come calling, but they are hopeful of doing so.

Szoboszlai’s current contract at Anfield is set to run until 2028, putting them in a strong position to bat away interest unless the offer is too good to refuse.
