Bolton have confirmed that they have signed Reece Burke and Josh Cullen on loan from West Ham.

The Championship side announced on their official Twitter account and official website on Tuesday afternoon that they have both joined on five-month long deals which will expire in January.

The duo will be joining up with Phil Parkinson once again after previous spells with him while he was in charge at Bradford.

Burke, 20, is highly rated by the Hammers supporters are is touted as one of the best defenders to have progressed through the club’s academy in recent years.

The England Under-20 international, who can play at right-back or at centre-back, spent last season on loan with Wigan in the Championship but only managed to earn 10 appearances in the first-team.

Cullen, 21, spent the whole of last term with Bradford, scoring one goal in 46 appearances across all competitions.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 captain has only ever featured four times in the West Ham first-team but is also touted as one of the finer talents in the development squad.

Football Insider Verdict

West Ham need to hope that both Burke and Cullen get as much first-team experience at possible while at the Macron Stadium. Bolton aren’t expected to cause any shockwaves this season following their promotion from League One, so it could be a very tough experience for the pair as they hook up with a side that could be fighting relegation. However it will still be an invaluable part of their footballing education if they are stuck in a rut with the Trotters. West Ham fans might not be happy about this deal they. They may think that Cullen and Burke could put pressure on potential first-team spots in the upcoming season.

In other West Ham news, a bid has been made for this midfield playmaker on the Irons’ radar.
