‘Door has opened’ for Jack Grealish after Man City transfer update via BBC – pundit
Paul Robinson has claimed Raheem Sterling’s exit from Man City will “open the door” for Jack Grealish to “shine” next season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 2022-23 campaign will be “a big one” for Grealish, 26, after an indifferent 12 months.
As reported by the BBC (9 July), Chelsea have agreed a £50million deal including add-ons with Man City for the transfer of Sterling.

The 27-year-old is said to have already agreed personal terms with Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Sterling has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad.
Pep Guardiola will still boast great strength in the left-wing position after Sterling’s exit, with Grealish, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez all capable of playing off that side.
When asked by Football Insider how significant Sterling’s exit could be for Grealish, Robinson said: “Grealish will play more.
“It opens a door for him in that sense. It will be his time to step up and his time to shine.
“He admitted himself that he found it different, not difficult, but different last year. He was not the main man. Rather than being the main player, he was a cog in a wheel.

“I think he is slowly learning about what Pep Guardiola wants. He is growing into the role.
“Next season will be a big season for him, especially with Raheem Sterling moving on.”
