Liverpool transfer news: Dortmund ‘worried about Liverpool’ as talks advance over Bellingham double deal – sources

Borussia Dortmund are advancing talks over a new contract for Jude Bellingham amid fears Liverpool are lining up a mega summer swoop, Football Insider has learned.

The Merseysiders are expected to be in the market for a top-ranking central midfielder in the next window and the Bundesliga sensation, 18, is on their target list.

A German source has told Football Insider that Dortmund are stepping up plans to secure Bellingham to a new contract and want a deal in place ahead of the summer.

The source remarked “we are worried about Liverpool” and the possibility of a concerted effort from Anfield to lure one of the world’s most in-demand young players.

As this site revealed on 22 December, the German club are attempting to sweeten the deal for Bellingham and his family by also signing his younger brother Jobe, who is 16 and made his Birmingham City debut last month.

The potential double deal comes following Bellingham’s outstanding first half of the season at Dortmund.

They regard the younger of the brothers as a major talent and also believe that signing him would convince Jude to stay.

Bellingham has made a huge impact at Dortmund since signing from Birmingham for £25million plus add-ons in the summer of 2020.

He has been one of their outstanding players this season and has made 24 Bundesliga and Champions League starts among 28 appearances in all competitions.

They have yielded four goals and a hugely impressive 10 assists from midfield.

That has pressed Dortmund into action even though the England international has a contract that runs until 2025.

Younger brother Jobe has played twice for the Birmingham first team, including a run-out as a sub for his Championship debut against Preston North End on 15 January.

In other news, Liverpool have agreed personal terms on long-term contract as they work on first summer signing.
