‘Dreadful’ Leeds United will be relegated as pundit lambasts ‘clueless’ Jesse Marsch

Leeds United were “dreadful” against Aston Villa and are looking set for relegation from the Premier League.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Whites suffered another defeat.

Leeds fell to a 3-0 loss to Aston Villa on Thursday (10 March), their sixth straight defeat.

Major questions were asked of the defence as the Whites struggled to deal with every Villa attack.

Jesse Marsch has now lost both of his games in charge and McAvennie has not been impressed with what he has seen.

He pointed the finger at the manager holding a post-match huddle on the pitch straight after his first game in charge.

“I don’t think he knows what he’s doing,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s coming in and he’s doing all this show and tell, this huddle in the middle of the pitch.

“That means bog-all if you get relegated. Leeds were dreadful last night.

“It’s not the manager’s fault these players aren’t good enough and he’s trying to change everything Bielsa did in just a few days.

“But they look so disjointed now. It does not bode well at all, I think they are in real trouble and will be relegated now.

“That defence is a shambles, and it has been for a while. Marsch has a real job on his hands.

“The players just aren’t good enough.”
