Eddie Howe ‘could be tempted to leave Newcastle’ after Man United reveal
Eddie Howe could leave Newcastle to become the next England manager at the end of the season if Thomas Tuchel quits to join Man United.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Howe is interested in the England job and could be prepared to walk away from Newcastle.
This comes amid a turbulent league season which has seen Newcastle fans pile pressure on Howe, despite their progress in the domestic cups and Champions League.
Howe has been heavily linked with the England job since Gareth Southgate‘s departure, while Tuchel‘s contract is set to expire after the World Cup.
As a result, there is a growing belief that the Newcastle boss could finally be tempted to manage his country in what would be seen as a coup for the FA.

Thomas Tuchel to impact Eddie Howe at Newcastle
Brown told Football Insider on 13 January that Tuchel is a contender for the Man United job and is high on their list of targets should he leave England after the World Cup.
While there remains a possibility he will be offered an extension by the FA if England are successful this summer, his future could have an immediate impact on Howe.
“The England job is going to be one to watch,” Brown told Football Insider.
“Eddie Howe is always spoken about with the position, and it’s not long ago there were shouts of frustration from Newcastle fans when things weren’t going well.
“The finger was pointed at him with their away form and other issues, but that’s the nature of the game, I don’t think it’ll impact his future too much.
“But at the end of the season, if Tuchel goes to Man United and leaves the England job free, I think it’s clear Howe is going to be the favourite.
“The door will open for him to leave Newcastle and take over at England and he may well be tempted to leave for that opportunity.

“There are a lot of dominoes that need to fall before that happens, mind, because Tuchel could stay on if England do well at the World Cup.
“But it looks like it will be something that comes up in the summer and it will be up to Howe whether he is tempted to make that switch.”
Who is the leading candidate for Man United?
Tuchel is not the only big-name boss on Man United’s radar as they prepare to appoint a permanent successor to Ruben Amorim at the end of the season.
Football Insider revealed on 11 January that Man United are lining up a “top-class” manager to become their next permanent boss following an interim spell.
Oliver Glasner, Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva are among the Premier League managers linked with the role, while big-name bosses from abroad are also being linked.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 11 January that Julian Nagelsmann is an option for Man United, with Christopher Vivell pushing for his appointment.
Vivell and Nagelsmann previously worked together at RB Leipzig and enjoy a strong relationship which would aid his case for landing the Man United job.
