Eddie Howe ‘not happy’ with new signing after Newcastle United latest – pundit

Sandro Tonali shouldn’t need help settling in at Newcastle United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie said Eddie Howe won’t be happy about Tonali bringing former staff from AC Milan with him to Newcastle.

The 23-year-old joined the Magpies from Milan this summer and put pen to paper on a five-year deal.

According to Italian outlet La Republica (2 August), Tonali is bringing from AC Milan team manager Andrea Romeo.

Romeo will join Tonali’s staff and look after him as he settles into life in the north-east with the report claiming the plan is to “integrate” the Italian into Howe’s backroom staff.

McAvennie claimed the midfielder shouldn’t need help getting used to life at Newcastle.

It took me ten minutes to settle in at West Ham,” he told Football Insider.

At Celtic as well we were such a close knit group. When you join a new club you have to interact with the players more, that is how you bond.

Newcastle

I do not get why you would want to bring somebody from your former club. [Cristiano] Ronaldo used to have all of his own staff because he wanted to be the best player in the world and it worked.

I do not know if Eddie Howe will be too happy about it. Different people have different ideas and he has to buy into what Eddie Howe is saying. It is a very strange situation.
