Elliot Anderson contract news emerges as Evangelos Marinakis to play key role in Nottingham Forest transfer

Nottingham Forest will not want to separate from Elliot Anderson any time soon as the talented midfielder draws admirers from across Europe.

Anderson has cemented his spot in the England team ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and his development has increased exponentially since parting ways with Newcastle United.

Thomas Tuchel has been massively impressed by Anderson, who played a key role in the Three Lions’ perfect World Cup qualification campaign, and the head coach is not the only one.

Man United and Newcastle are interested in the 23-year-old, with Football Insider understanding that Chelsea, Man City, and Liverpool are all likely to keep tabs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Forest will want to keep hold of the talented player, and their latest stance certainly backs that up.

Newcastle United have no buy-back clause for Elliot Anderson

According to the Telegraph (17 November), Anderson could become the next £100million-plus English player, with Forest not wanting to part ways with their talented midfielder.

Man United and Newcastle have both been credited with interest, but it is understood that there are no clauses or stipulations in the five-year contract that he signed in the summer of 2024.

In addition to that, there is no buy-back clause with the Magpies in his current deal, which is likely to boost his price tag even further as he goes from strength to strength at the City Ground.

Evangelos Marinakis will be key to proceedings, setting the player’s valuation ahead of the summer transfer window, with a January move already ruled out for the Reds.

Who are Nottingham Forest’s record departures?

Unsurprisingly, Anderson would take top spot of Forest’s all-time record departures by quite some distance, especially if he were to be sold for more than £100m.

Currently in first is Newcastle’s Anthony Elanga, who was sold for £55million, with Brennan Johnson in second after his £47.5million move to Tottenham, then Moussa Niakhate to Lyon for £27million.

Then, names like Danilo, Orel Mangala, and Britt Assombalonga all appear, before Stan Collymore down in 10th after he joined Liverpool in an £8.5million deal back in 1995.
