Elliot Anderson to Newcastle: O’Rourke in ‘no doubt’ after Nottingham Forest latest
Newcastle are set to suffer a setback in their pursuit of Elliot Anderson as more and more clubs strengthen their pursuits of him.
Sources told Football Insider on 10 October that Newcastle are eager to accelerate a deal for Elliot Anderson.
The 22-year-old has quickly become one of England‘s finest midfielders and will most certainly be in the World Cup squad next summer.
As a result, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Newcastle are keen to re-sign Anderson from Nottingham Forest after selling him in the summer of 2024.

Elliot Anderson stocks soar as Newcastle unlikely to finalise homecoming
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Forest man’s incredible form has seen his price rocket.
Sources told Football Insider that Newcastle will find it difficult to agree a deal for Anderson and his outstanding performances will push his price tag even higher.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “The problem for those interested clubs in Elliot Anderson right now is probably that his price tag has increased significantly and his reputation’s really enhanced since breaking into the England fold.

“Nottingham Forest won’t want to think about losing Elliot Anderson. They’ll be looking to keep hold of him because they will need him if they are to be in a relegation fight this year.
“They will need the best players to help them climb the Premier League table and there’s no doubts, Anderson is that.”
Ange Postecoglou departure could mean an even greater uptick in form for Anderson
Ange Postecoglou is fighting for his Nottingham Forest job after a winless start to life at the City Ground.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis is growing increasingly disenchanted by the Australian’s rigid tactics as the Garibaldi face a potential relegation battle on current form.

Sources told Football Insider that Nottingham Forest have interest in Rafael Benitez as a potential Postecoglou replacement.
The Spaniard has been out of work since being sacked by Celta Vigo in March 2024 and a shock return to the English top-flight could improve the prospects even more of Anderson.
The Englishman is still managing to maintain consistent performance levels despite his side’s deplorable form and a fresh face could improve his displays even more.
