'Embarrassment' - Liverpool fans fume on Twitter, call for senior player to be sold
By Matt Bullin
Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has suffered a hip injury, in yet another devastating setback for the stricken striker.
The 27-year-old has been injury-plagued over the last few seasons and has only featured 16 times in the Premier League this campaign, scoring twice.
Even more shockingly, Sturridge has only started in five of those appearances, and failed to complete 90 minutes in all of them.
It’s not a good state of affairs for a striker that was seen as one of the brightest talents in the country.

Since his arrival at Liverpoo in 2013, the 25-time England international has scored an impressive 60 goals in his 115 league and cup games, but he has failed to feature regularly since the 2013/14 season.
Last season he made just 25 appearances for the Reds and the season before that only 18 as injuries have ruined his chances of putting together a run of games.
Liverpool lost to Crystal Palace 2-1 last time out, and have suffered in recent weeks due to a string of absences due to injury.
Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana are currently out, while Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Philippe Coutinho have all spent time on the sidelines this season.
Liverpool fans are furious at the news that Sturridge is out again and some have even called for the 27-year-old to be sold.
Here are a selection of their Tweets:

I'll miss the 13/14 Sturridge when he leaves, not the one who's constantly injured

he's one of these players we'll look back on saying, "When he was fit, he was near best in the league". Shame it was for 1 season though ????
