Emerson Royal: Insider suggests under-fire star facing Tottenham exit amid ‘complete mess’ claim
Emerson Royal has proved he is not good enough to play for Tottenham after producing another poor performance against Southampton.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Royal, 23, played the full 90 minutes as Spurs lost 3-2 to Southampton on Wednesday (9 February).

The Saints scored two late goals with Royal failing to pick up the goalscorer on both occasions.
Wenham claims Tottenham’s wing-back situation is a “complete mess” and even suggested Royal could be sold in the summer.
“It is already clear that Emerson Royal isn’t up to the standard,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He was only signed in the summer, who did the due diligence on him?
“Why did no one say he isn’t good enough for the Premier League?
“The whole wing-back situation is a complete mess. I already can’t wait until the summer to move some of these players on.
“We spent all of January trying to sign a right wing-back to replace Royal.
“We didn’t manage to do it so he’s still here and he was at fault for both of Southampton’s late goals.
“The goals were identical and he barely put a challenge in.
“It’s just not good enough from the club and it’s happened so many times now.”

Royal joined Spurs from Barcelona in the summer of 2021.
He has made 26 total appearances for the club.
