Emi Buendia shines- Aston Villa’s three winners vs Bournemouth

Unai Emery will have been delighted at another star performance from midfielder Emi Buendia in Aston Villa’s win over Bournemouth.

Emery’s side reacted from Aston Villa’s 2-0 defeat at Liverpool last time out in the Premier League which had halted their winning streak.

Bournemouth’s 3-1 loss at Man City had also put to an end their unbeaten run, and the Cherries could not bounce back against Aston Villa.

Below are Aston Villa’s three winners from their 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

Emi Buendia

The Argentine opened the scoring with a cultured free-kick, which curled delightfully into the roof of the net.

It was a special goal for Emi Buendia, who scored twice in Aston Villa’s 3-1 win over Fulham earlier in the season.

One moment though may have pleased Emery more than any other when Buendia ran the whole pitch to track back Marcus Tavernier from a corner to stop a dangerous Bournemouth counter-attack.

Baboucarr Kamara

Baboucarr Kamara’s sweeping pass in-behind the Bournemouth defence for Matty Cash forced Djordje Petrovic into his first save of the game

The midfielder then had a powerful right-footed strike which Petrovic had to push clear, as the 25-year-old ran the show early on.

Kamara kept Emery’s side ticking in the middle of the park, and showcased his ability with the likes of Youri Tielemans on the bench.

Amadou Onana

Aston Villa fans were treated to another excellent goal when Amadou Onana’s low strike nestled into the bottom corner of the net.

Alongside Kamara, Onana stopped Bournemouth playing their way through Aston Villa’s midfield, penning the visitors back.

Onana was involved in 10 duels during the contest, and won all of his tackles during his 71 minutes on the pitch.
