England fans all say the same thing about Phil Foden after his display vs Albania

Phil Foden’s display against Albania prompted England supporters to take to social media to share their thoughts about the star.

Foden assisted Eberechi Eze’s goal against Serbia, but the Man City forward was again only on the bench against Albania.

England beat Albania 2-0 thanks to a Harry Kane double in the second half, with Foden appearing for the final 30 minutes.

The Three Lions have qualified for next summer’s World Cup, and Foden is fighting to be apart of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Phil Foden ‘a squad player’ for England

England fans though do not believe that Foden deserves to be in the final squad due to his performances for the Three Lions.

One supporter posted on social media: “Phil Foden is now a squad player for England and Eberechi Eze is super sub.”

Foden can’t perform unless he’s in a super man city team. Ghosted consistently for England,” an England fan commented.

Another said; “England are their own downfall. They want to build the team around Foden but he’s not giving what it takes.”

Whilst one fan provided a damning statistic: “By the end of this season Kane will likely have scored more goals for Bayern in 3 seasons, than Foden’s total for city. Also pretty sure Kane has scored more cup knockout goals for England than Foden has for England in total.

Foden shouldn’t be near the squad,” was one fans view.

One fan explained: “There is a reason Foden has long struggled to make impact with England. Not a bad player but needs conditions to be favourable, palmer was moved to 10 and his performances ain’t been close to what they were when he was out wide.

Foden fighting for England spot

Whilst Foden is close to a new Man City contract, the 25-year-old cannot seem to nail down a position in the England team.

Tuchel has many options in the attacking areas, and Foden is competing against some of the Premier League’s best players for a spot at the World Cup.

Foden’s form at club level may be excellent right now, but he needs to show more on the international stage.
