English pundit ‘amazed’ by Postecoglou after Celtic dressing room reveal

Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou for uniting the dressing room at Parkhead.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Leeds United goalkeeper said the 56-year-old has done ‘amazingly’ to integrate new signings into a team that was so divided last term.

Speaking to The Scottish Sun (October 10th), Neil Lennon revealed some Hoops players pulled out of games when fully fit in the 2020-21 campaign.

The toxic atmosphere in the dressing room last season ultimately cost Lennon his job.

However, it appears a squad overhaul and fresh approach from Postecoglou has brightened the mood behind the scenes at Parkhead.

As quoted by the Daily Record (18th October), summer signing Carl Starfelt revealed there is “a positive” atmosphere at the club.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if Postecoglou deserves credit for the turnaround in the dressing room, Robinson said:

“It has been a difficult job for Postecoglou both on and off the field. He deserves a lot of credit for getting that team to where they are now.

“Let’s be honest, they were in turmoil six months ago. He has united that dressing room.

“A harmonious dressing room is vital. You will struggle on the field if you are not united off it.

“Postecoglou has brought a lot of new players in and he is making them gel. That’s no easy feat. The management of new signings is as important as the recruitment.

“He’s done an amazing job in that respect so far.”
