Enzo Maresca sends message to former club Leicester after Chelsea beating
Enzo Maresca has reflected on Chelsea’s progress after dismantling old club Leicester City by insisting he is “satisfied with the path we are taking.”
Maresca gave his online verdict on his successful return to the King Power Stadium on Saturday (23 November), where he guided his team to a 2-1 win over his former club.
Maresca wrote on Instagram, “Saturday was a great game, satisfied with the path we are taking with the team.
“It was also exciting to see old faces, players, and fans. Thanks for the insights and support.”
The Blues continued their impressive start to the 2024-25 campaign by picking up their sixth victory of the season as they continued to put pressure on Man City above them as they look to secure a top-four finish.
Chelsea sit in third place after the opening 12 fixtures as they sit just one point behind the defending Premier League champions.
The game marked the first time that Maresca has faced Leicester since switching for Stamford Bridge during the summer, and the result led to Steve Cooper being sacked.

Enzo Maresca has to battle with unhappy Chelsea star
Chelsea are currently thriving in the league and sit top of the Europa Conference League table, but Maresca is still juggling unhappy players despite his team’s success on the pitch.
Nkunku has only started one Premier League game this season, having become a rotational player under Maresca.

Chelsea will be back in action on Thursday (28 November) against Heidenheim in the Europa Conference League.
The Blues will then compete against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday (1 December).
