Eric Dier: Tottenham insider issues ‘crazy’ verdict after update in last 48 hours
Eric Dier is the key to turning the tide at Tottenham after three straight Premier League losses.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Dier, 28, has missed Tottenham’s last two games due to a thigh problem with his side losing 3-2 to Southampton and 2-0 to Wolves.

He has also missed both of Spurs’ FA Cup games but managed to play 90 minutes against Chelsea on 23 January.
Antonio Conte, as quoted by Football.London (12 February), “hopes to have him available” for Saturday’s (19 February) clash against Manchester City.
Wenham claims there is no leadership in the backline when Dier is absent.
“It’s crazy how much we lose when Dier isn’t in the side,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I speak about him more than the others because he has been an absolute revelation for us this season.
“He took so much stick last year but his form under two separate managers has been absolutely brilliant.
“As soon as he is out of the side there is zero leadership at the back. It’s like like these players have never played together before.
“They are like strangers and it’s unacceptable. If we are to have any chance of recovering this season, we need him back.”

Dier has made 23 total appearances for Tottenham this season.
He has started 19 of Spurs 23 Premier League games this term.
